Swaziland has few women in parliament

Swaziland has not participated in the Commonwealth Women Parliament (CPW) because it has no representation, APA reports on Thursday.Swaziland has only one elected female Member of Parliament in the House of Assembly, out of the 55 elected members while 10 are appointed by King Mswati III. The Senate has eight female members out of 30.
A report of the executive committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Swaziland says the lack of activities in the CWP is worrying because the local CPA branch continues to participate in the activities internationally and regionally.
