The good narrative: As a people, we expect to do better and want to do better

Noni Hazlehurst's acceptance speech for a TV Week television industry award talks about the obstacles women face when working in the media and widens out to talk about fear, hatred and 'our hearts growing cold.'

Noni talks about women dealing with glacial change and the need to stay on top of the glacier. Noni 'wants a channel for stories that inspire.' Her speech strikes at the heart of the industry for which the award is given. We do live in an era of fear and hatred, we are diminished by this, we can and ought do better. We want change.

democracy5050 is our call for change to restore faith in ourselves and respect for each other.
